Hands Up for Trad’s Distil Showcase

12 November, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Distil Showcase is back! For the first time since before lockdown Mr McFall’s Chamber and traditional musicians Sophie Joint, Beccy Hill, Calum McIllroy, Neil Sutcliffe, Lorne MacDougall, Claire Gullan, Andrew Herrington and Emma Tomlinson will be getting together to perform brand new music written by musicians who have participated in Hands Up for Trad’s Distil Project.

The Distil Showcase is an annual event where composers from the traditional music world write new work for Mr McFall’s Chamber. The Distil project which started in 2002 and has annually been working with professional traditional musicians giving them opportunities to share their ideas with musicians from other genres. The musicians take time out of their busy schedules to come to a residential weekend where they meet the tutors and they share ideas and learn new ones. This is the first Showcase since the start of lockdown and it will be very exciting to hear the outcomes!
