Message from Bob Phillips – Chairman/ Organiser FTSB Portsoy:
It is with huge regret that the decision has been made to confirm cancellation of Portsoy’s 11th HAAL 5/6/7 2020. I have been in touch with performers and local businesses over the past few weeks and was hopeful that our event in June may be safe, but it is now obvious that that is not going to be the case.
Nearly all performers have confirmed their availability for 4/5/6 June 2021, so I am delighted to report, we will almost certainly have the same line up for 2021.
WE hope to host a ‘Short HAAL’ on 23/24 th October 2020. Over the weekend it is planned to hold session or two in local pubs, hold the Greig Duncan Song Competition in The Bothy and present the Wheeler/ FTSB Prize to Aberdeen Music School Pupil, at a Ceilidh/ Concert in the Station Hotel on Saturday Evening. Full details of event will be circulated when the mist lifts, later in the year. Proceeds of the Short HAAL will be used to offset costs that have already been incurred for the June event and the surplus will be donated to a Scottish Charity supporting musicians who are finding life hard.
I hope to welcome many of our friends back to Portsoy in October and failing that in June 2021. In the interim , keep safe and healthy and enjoy the great sets that are being posted on various FB pages.
