House of Song – Celtic Connections 2025
17 January @ 10:30 pm - 1 February @ 1:00 am
Celtic Connections 2025
Following in Doris Rougvie’s footsteps in 2025, House of Song hosts Natalie Chalmers, Amy Lord, and Scott Gardiner bring this festival favourite back to its new home for the second year running — the Novotel Hotel, just off Sauchiehall Street.
Open to singers and listeners alike, this calm and warm session is free to attend and presented in partnership with the TMSA. House of Song is a song session with a host where anyone can take part. Like an intimate open mic.
A fine young singer from Scotland’s north-east, Natalie Chalmers is a serial competition winner, including competing at the Bothy Ballad Champion of Championships in Elgin, and has guested at many festivals, including Glastonbury and Cambridge.
Amy Lord specialises in Scots song and language. A former student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, Amy is currently tutor and leader of a number of singing groups including the award-nominated community singing group, The Liltin Lassies.
Traditional singer Scott Gardiner has appeared at festivals across the UK and Ireland. A former Bothy Ballad Champion of Champions, Scott’s repertoire of songs is legendary and he is particularly fond of songs from his native Angus.
Please note that the Novotel Bar only accepts card payments, not cash.
