Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival
Since its beginning in 1970, the Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival has provided a space for musicians, singers, poets and storytellers to come and share their love of traditional culture. The usual programme is an Opening Concert and ceilidh dance, alongside the continuation of the usual competitions, workshops and sessions. Shetland Fiddle Week
Shetland Fiddle Week is a five-day music school that takes place in Shetland on the first week of August each year. Workshops led by experienced Shetland musicians cater for players of intermediate to advanced ability, teaching the tunes and techniques of the distinct Shetland fiddle style. Based in Shetland, students are immersed in the islands' rich musical culture, welcoming communities and beautiful landscapes. Concerts and sessions will also take place across the week.
