“The FluteFling Collection” Launch Event at the 2022 Stonehaven Folk Festival

Flutefling are launching their new tunebook —The Flutefling Collection—at this year's Stonehaven Folk Festival on Saturday 9th July. One of the biggest festivals in Scotland, Stonehaven hosts a Friday night concert from the legendary Flook, where copies of the book for sale. On the following Saturday, Kenny, Sharon and Gordon from Flutefling will run whistle and flute workshops and perform on stage in the square before the late afternoon launch in the Festival Club. 'Ayrshire Folk For Ukraine' will be a cross-Ayrshire collaboration of folk clubs/festivals with the Gaiety theatre—a gala folk music concert curated to support Ukrainian refugees in Scotland. The evening’s programme is fronted up by main guests Alastair McDonald, Fraser & Ian Bruce and Gavin Patterson, supported by Dalrymple Ladies Ukes Orchestra and Folk Club Floor Singers, and with special appearance by Ukrainian Musician Vlada Kupriyanova. A message from the organisers: We very much regret to announce the cancellation of our summer season of dancing for the third year running. This year the main reason is not Covid, but the temporary closure of Linlithgow Palace for safety reasons, while Historic Environment Scotland undertakes high level masonry inspections. The festival is a unique celebration, bringing together outstanding traditional singers from Scotland, England, and Ireland.
