Ayrshire Folk For Ukraine
'Ayrshire Folk For Ukraine' will be a cross-Ayrshire collaboration of folk clubs/festivals with the Gaiety theatre—a gala folk music concert curated to support Ukrainian refugees in Scotland. The evening’s programme is fronted up by main guests Alastair McDonald, Fraser & Ian Bruce and Gavin Patterson, supported by Dalrymple Ladies Ukes Orchestra and Folk Club Floor Singers, and with special appearance by Ukrainian Musician Vlada Kupriyanova. A message from the organisers: We very much regret to announce the cancellation of our summer season of dancing for the third year running. This year the main reason is not Covid, but the temporary closure of Linlithgow Palace for safety reasons, while Historic Environment Scotland undertakes high level masonry inspections. The survey can only be carried out during the summer months, and it is therefore unlikely that the Palace will re-open in time for our usual July/August season. We…

The festival is a unique celebration, bringing together outstanding traditional singers from Scotland, England, and Ireland. The event is especially for those who like to hear, enjoy, and join in unaccompanied traditional singing. Essentially informal, friendly and non-competitive, it will be just the place to encourage the young and less experienced as well as the old hands. The weekend includes informal concerts featuring the guest singers, singarounds for everyone who wants to join in, workshops, craft demonstrations and a talk.

The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is performing at Newhailes House and Gardens on 13th August 2022. This gig follows their successful collaboration with the National Trust for Scotland last summer. A bit of summer fun for all the family with the freedom to get up and dance while enjoying some great music, as well as explore one of the National Trusts properties.
