Want to learn folk tunes by ear but don't know how? Using Morag’s unique memorisation method, learning by heart is made easy for everyone. Shetland fiddler Morag Johnston directs an online course teaching a selection of tunes from Ireland, Scotland and the Shetland Isles.  She has developed a unique memorisation method that makes learning tunes by ear approachable for everyone. Together with Music (TwM) are embarking on a UK wide song-writing tour to support reconnection and amplify the voices of people from all generations and walks of life.   On 13 & 14 September, TwM will be running 2 days of workshops at the Scottish Storytelling Centre to promote understanding around music, health and wellbeing and to encourage intergenerational connections through music making and song-writing. A very special night of shanty singing is coming to a computer near you in September! Featuring a line-up of some of the finest shanty singers from America and Britain, including The Johnson Girls, The Silver Darlings, All @ Sea, Scolds Bridle, The Anthony Quines, Chris Lock, Helen Pitt, Jan Bee Brown, Kathryn Collings, Talitha MacKenzie, Janie Meneely and Linn Phipps. All proceeds will go to the Musician's Union Benevolent Fund.
