The Carrying Stream Festival organised annually in November to celebrate the life and work of the great Scottish folklorist and writer Hamish Henderson is back this year with some new life. Provisionally, there will be events in Edinburgh between 11th and 17th November. The festival will officially launch in September, but some information will appear on its Facebook page over the coming weeks. There will be a mixed range of events, mainly ticketed, some free.

From 19 to 28 November, Festival of Small Halls will travel across Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh, bringing world class musicians into some of the region’s best loved village halls and community spaces. First launched by SEALL in 2018, the festival was created to bring exceptional live music into the heart of island communities during the quieter months. Since then, it has grown into a much loved annual event, bring musicians and audiences together - everyone is welcome.
